Biography

My career began after I studied Architecture at UC Berkeley and received my Bachelors degree. Following my education, I worked designing corporate interiors throughout the United States, for over fourteen years.

After a short hiatus as a stay at home mom, I began a new chapter as the Art Docent Director for the Washington Union School District, a position I have held for over fifteen years. My responsibilities include training over seventy volunteer art docents to teach art and art history lessons from Kindergarten through 6th grade. I also teach the art curriculum to our 7th and 8th grade students.

While working as the Art Docent Director, my two daughters applied to college and graduate school, which sparked my interest in the college application process and inspired me to obtain my College Counseling Certificate with UCLA. Each of my daughters’ educational paths has been different. Helping them through this complex process I have gained great insight and understanding. My oldest daughter attended Wellesley College for her undergraduate degree and then continued at Boston University receiving her Masters's in Public Health. She consulted for a few years and now is attending Yale getting her Masters's in Nurse Practitioner. My younger daughter had to take a gap year due to health issues. She graduated from Columbia University in 2018 receiving a BA in Art History and Archeology and is now working in New York City.

My practice focuses on helping to organize students and direct them in creating a less stressful college application path that will help them be successful. No two students are alike and it is important to recognize their interests, aptitudes, and abilities that are central to finding the right college. I am passionate when working with each one of my students and enjoy building long-lasting relationships with them and their families. Creativity and innovation are key to the ever-changing college planning process, and I hope to make the college process not only a growing experience but also one that is enjoyable and exciting!
